“We cannot absorb such a financial blow” reiterates the Birch Plywood Alliance to European decision makers

On 3 June 2021, the Birch Plywood Alliance addressed a second letter to European decisionmakers, just ahead of the imposition of provisional measures. The Alliance reiterated once more its concerns regarding the ongoing anti-dumping case conducted by the European Commission into the import of certain types of birch plywood from Russia, putting forward strong arguments.

Just as the first letter, it was sent to the European Commissioner for Trade Valdis Dombrovskis as well as the Commissioner in charge of the Internal Market and Industry, Thierry Breton. The relevant European Commission departments working on the case as well as the representatives from EU Member States working on anti-dumping/trade defence issues – who will ultimately be voting on the duties – have also received the letter.
